Golden Gate Clowns
Redwood City
Golden Gate Clowns Alley #80 first met at the
Howard Johnson's in Mill Valley
on January 16, 1978.
Count PoPo De Bathe from the Oakland Children's Fairyland was on
hand to treat the members to some fascinating entertainment.
He then became a member of Alley 80 himself!
Since it's origin Alley 80 has participated in hundreds of parades
(1st place winners in many), helped raise money for
cancer research, Muscular Dystrophy, AIDS,
Special Olympics and has made visits to hospitals in the Bay Area.
The Golden Gate Clowns have been recognized by the city of San Francisco
as working volunteers for the San Francisco Recreation Department on
"Play it Safe Day" and the Mayor's Christmas party for the homeless.
We meet on the second Monday
of each month at the
Veteran's Memorial Building
1455 Madison Avenue
Redwood City
at 7:30 p.m.
