I want to be a Clown

If you are interested in clowning around for a living or just for fun, you may want to attend a clown school or a clown class. While you may be naturally funny and can juggle four apples, a little higher education in the art of clowning can give you marketable skills you might not get on your own.

Step 1 - (Soul Searching Step)

Determine if you have what it takes to be a clown. If you are known for your sense of humor, love making people smile and laugh, and don't mind working hard, you may just have a chance of becoming a great clown.

Step 2 - (Research)

Research various clown schools, particularly cost, locations, and programs. You can fund your schooling in various ways. If you are taking a few classes in general skills, you may be able to work out a barter arrangement. If you are looking at a degree program, financial aid is available if you qualify.

Step 3 - (What Clown Type)

Decide what kind of clown you want to be, based on your interests. You can work with children, start a clown ministry, specialize in magic, hire out for a picnic, become a rodeo clown or an birthday party clown, or explore many, many other opportunities.

Step 4 - (Skills Inventory)

Take an inventory of skills you already have before entering clown college. Things like face painting, magic, story telling, juggling and riding a unicycle, you may already know how to do.

Step 5 - (Business Skillls)

Learn how to organize, promote and establish yourself in your own business after completion of your formal instruction--if you would prefer not to work for someone else, that is. If your program doesn't include them, enroll in a few non-clown courses, such as advertising, marketing and bookkeeping.

Step 6 - (Now go to School)

Now go to some of those Clown Classes or Clown Schools. Some people take a short class or go a jam for a trial run before doing a longer class or a clown convention.

And if you really want be a clown, there are clown schools that make you a good clown in just a few short years.

Step 7 - (Perfect practice makes Perfect)

Now go practice those skills. Some people join clown groups just for a chance to practice their clown skills. Or try a balloon or face painting jam to practice those skills
