Theatrestudio

The Theatrestudio is a part of the physical theatre-tradition. Inge Waern founded it in 1967 as the first Swedish education in physical theatre, and it is aiming first of all towards work within free, self-governed theatre groups. Since 1985 the Theatrestudio has been an independent part of Kulturama.
All theatre is based upon sensual, physical presence. One of the cornerstones in our work within the Theatrestudio is the so-called Theatrestudiotraining, where the main theme is that the training and the technique shall stimulate the imagination of the actor. The physical nurture, expression and inner presence of the actor are focused on, in order to free the physical imagination through corporal exercises and a day-to-day practice.
The pedagogy at the Theatrestudio is stressing group dynamics, as the education aims towards work within independent theatre groups.
