Every Master of contemporary theatre has posed the question: "what is essential for theatre?"
The response has always been to place the actor as the only indispensible element. Beyond this affirmation, what eventually led to the renewal of the theatrical art during the 20th century, is the rediscovery of the vital importance of the body and physical action on stage.
Naming it Dramatic Corporal Mime, French master Etienne Decroux created an innovative method and precise technique for a new generation of creative performers wishing to transform their ideas into a physical reality, in order to devise a new style of theatre "making visible the invisible" (Etienne Decroux).
