Ira is the former Resident Teacher & Choreographer for Australia's national Bell Shakespeare Company and helped establish this national company. Ira also acted in all productions and co-directed Richard III. Ira was instrumental in the establishment of The Commedia School (initially Clownskolan), Playspace, and Sydney's The Actors Centre, and he was also a teacher at the National Institute of Dramatic Arts; and was Artistic Director for Sweden's national circus high school
