Mary "Starlight" Morris
Houston Texas, USA
Mary "Starlight" Morris has been clowning around most of her life. She has been involved in theater and dance, even an official Miss America beauty/scholarship pageant while in high school, traveled the country with a Gospel singing group in her early 20's. But the idea to become a professional clown did not take hold until the early 80's when she would spend a good bit of her time playing with her nieces and nephews.
In 1997, Mary quit her day job to start clowning full time. She joined the Cheerful Clown Alley, TCA and COAI at the same time. In 2003, she earned the Best All-Around Clown award. She has also earned many other awards in makeup and wardrobe, balloon twisting, single and group skits, and group paradeability at both TCA and COAI conventions. She has taught at Cheerful Clown Alley's Clown School, and taught balloon twisting and clowning for the Houston Parks and Recreation Department, the Pasadena Parks and Recreation Department and at various churches throughout the city.
